Conditions of Participation to High Country and Beyond
Because the trip is an endorsed FWDV club event, we will have public liability insurance and personal accident insurance to cover each participant in the Event. (http://www.fwdvictoria.org.au – Affiliation insurance section for details) Please note that these policies do not negate the need for participants to obtain adequate travel insurance to cover items including personal property damage, theft or accidents outside the scope of FWDV insurance.
The participant acknowledges that four wheel driving and associated activities are dangerous with many inherent risks as a result of which personal injury (and sometimes death) are common and ordinary consequences and assumes and accepts all risk of personal injury or death in any way whatsoever arising from such activities.
The entrant/user shall comply with Four Wheel Drive Victoria’s Code of Ethics (www.fwdvictoria.org.au), Parks Victoria’s Park Code and regulations applying to State and National Parks (www.parkweb.vic.gov.au) and signs or other directions of HC&B. The right of entry and access to some areas of Crown Land may be suspended or cancelled by Government Authorities which will be outside HC&B’s control, simarly tracks maybe inaccessible due to weather.
You must have a driver’s License and abide by all relevant road rules. Your vehicle must be covered for a minimum of third party property damage in order to participate in the trip. Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance is recommended.
All ancillary costs associated with participating in the Event, including but not limited to tents and camping equipment, bedding, food, fuel, medical supplies (including a first aid kit and any medication regularly required by any participant in your vehicle), spare wheels and tyres, are your responsibility and will not be provided by the organizing clubs, HC&B or trip leader.
You agree to disclose any pre-existing medical or other condition that may affect the risk that any person travelling in your vehicle will suffer injury, loss or damage.
Entrants/users appreciate that the program for HC&B may change at short notice and where possible an alternative activity will be offered.
By participating in the event, you grant permission to HC&B to use any digital, film or video imagery they may take of you, your family and/or your vehicle, in promotion, publications including webpages and/or social media.
You acknowledge that HC&B reserve the right, without payment or compensation and whether before or after the commencement of travel, to exclude any participant if that participant may appear likely to endanger the health or safety or to impair the comfort of other participants, or breach any part(s) of this condition.
Information for Participants
All participants must be registered via the form.
All participants need to be respectful of the environment and drive only on designated roads and tracks.
All participants must appreciate that the program may change at very short notice and if instructed by emergency services follow their instructions.
All participating vehicles need to be fitted with front and rear recovery points and carry a snatch strap and 2 rated shackles minimum.
It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure the participating vehicle is roadworthy and appropriately set up for each trip. All terrain tyres preferred (70% tread minimum) and carry spare wheel with jack and wheel brace. UHF radio is essential.
Please carry a first aid kit and if you have special needs it is your responsibility to be prepared. Eg epi-pens, asthma medication etc.
Refund policy: cancellations received from 14 days prior to the event, 50% of registration will be refunded. Cancellations received 28 days prior to the event, 100% of registration will be refunded.
HC&B is collecting your personal information for the purpose of allowing you to participate in the Event.
HC&B, the committee, contractors, volunteers and staff, accept no responsibility for any accident which might occur during HC&B for paricipants who enter at their own risk.
